The Purpose
The purpose of our Healthy Lifestyles branch is to help youth build lifelong habits that support well-being, balance, and confidence. While school health classes often stay in the textbook, this category focuses on real-world applications; whether it’s preparing nutritious meals, practicing food safety, learning outdoor cooking skills, or exploring ways to stay active and safe.
Additionally, this branch supports leadership and independence by encouraging youth to research health topics, give food-based presentations, and practice practical skills like grilling or meal planning. Through these experiences, participants explore careers in nutrition, health sciences, or fitness while gaining knowledge they can use every day. By participating, youth develop healthy habits, teamwork, and confidence in their ability to make positive lifestyle choices.
